In this blog, we have covered all the required details related to the upcoming season of the IPL. We all know, how big fans we Indians are when it comes to the mighty IPL. This is the reason why we avoid all the other important works during the IPL. And this season of the IPL comes up with a lot more fun and entertainment as BCCI has introduced two more teams. Now, a total of 72 matches are scheduled to be played in 62 days. This time, 12 doubleheaders are going to be played.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujrat Titans (GT) are the new teams that will be part of the IPL 2022. Hence, more matches will be played this season. This is the 1st time after 2011 when 10 teams will be part of the IPL. The matches are scheduled in a way that every team has to play against each other.
IPL 2022 Title sponsor
IPL 2022 or Tata IPL 2022 comes under the Sponsorship of the TATA group since tata has replaced the Chinese tech giant company Vivo as the title sponsor. Tata will be the title sponsor for iPL 2022 and 2023.
So BCCI has just confirmed the schedule of the IPL. Earlier, BCCI and Star Sports had an issue with the opening date of the IPL 2022. Star wanted to start the season on the 26th of March whereas BCCI was planning to start the IPL 2022 on the 27th. However, BCCI has finally confirmed the schedule. Now, the official date has been released and is 26th March 2022 on which defending champion Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata knight riders.

As covid cases are dropping, the bCCI will not be Organizing IPL 2022 in Dubai instead it is planned to be Organized in Maharastra alone. All the matches will be played on the 4 grounds of Maharashtra. Here are the details of four venues:- Wankhede Stadium Mumbai, D Y Patil Cricket Stadium, Brabourne Cricket Stadium, and MCA Pune Cricket Stadium. Each team has to play 14 matches in which they have to play 4 matches in Wankhede Stadium, 4 matches in D Y Patil Cricket Stadium, 3 matches in Brabourne Cricket Stadium, and 3 matches Pune Cricket Stadium.
Covid-19 guidelines in the IPL 2022
So in the last year, people were not allowed to watch the IPL matches from the ground but this time BCCI has confirmed that people can watch the matches from the Stadiums. However, all the required Guidelines have not been disclosed yet. The Maharashtra government will provide further guidelines regarding the same. To ensure social Distancing 40% crowd is allowed till now. It might be changed and increased, if covid cases drop during the iPL matches.
